My Christmas Tree.

Look at this cool sketch that was created by Shirley. You need to go and check out her amazing layout. I so love it.

Here is my take. I tried really hard to be true to her sketch, but using my old photos and scrapping 8 1/2 x 11, it just did not work. I needed more room and smaller photos.  I added some branches from my Martha Stewart's punch to the sides of the photos. I really am pleased with the look.

I also wanted to share and say Thank You to Shirley for my fun winnings. You are the best!!!

I am also going to enter my layout in the Make it Merry Challenge

Product List:
Tambayan: Sketch Challenge
Paper Issues New Issues:  Make it Merry
AC Cardstock: Green paper

ScrapMuch? Challenge Dec.12

This is my first time joining in a ScrapMuch? challenge. I really like this sketch created by Laura Whitaker. It was a lot of fun to play with. I wanted to scrap these sweet photo of my son. He was not having any part of the Jolly Old Man.....Say, No No No to the HO HO HO! My papers are MME and the 3D Stickers are Recollection.

Here is the sketch if you would like to play along.

I also wanted to share the "how to's" on my Christmas photo. Not having a lot of time to spear, I had my hubby work his Photo Shop magic, I used my Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch and punched a boarder across my white cardstock. I trimmed each snowflake to created a 2 1/4" x 5" tag. I added a festive strip to the top and a bling in the center. I then scored, folded and taped my tag to the top and back of my photo, I stamped a few snowflakes, wrote my note and handed them off to Mr Postman.

The Stockings Were Hung...

Oh my, have you ever worked on a layout and do not know when to call it quits? Today, was one of those days.....I had to keep telling myself, Cher, step away from the layout! It is sometimes a trick to scrap a 8 1/2 X 11 page while using old 4 x 6  printed photos to take on the look of the 12 x 12 sketch. But if you look real hard at my layout, you may just see a glimpse of the beautiful sketch that Laura Whitaker created.

Here is the sketch at Stuck?! if you would like to play along

This bag can be found in Mary's Silent Night Kit....and such a wonderful kit it is. I am also going to enter this fun bag in the Anything Christmas Die Cut Challenge at StuckOnUSketches. 12 Days of Christmas Day 9

When boys were younger, we did not have the Elf on a Shelf Tradition. I wish that we did, because I love the fun mischief that this elf creates. Now that I made one, I can't wait for my boys to see what plans I have for him this holiday season. I used Mary's SVG file to create my elf as well as the door hanger. I also made my elf magnetic so I would not be limited to what he could hold on to. I am entering him the Red Carpet Studio Challenge #84 Elf.

Here is a photo of my elf hang on the door.

Elf Product List:
Red Carpet Studio: Challenge Elf
SVGCuts: SVG Files
AC Cardstock: Plalin cardstock
Deja Views: Printed cardstock
Misc: Pom pom

Now on to my scrap project.
I have so many old Christmas photos to scrap, it's not funny. This is a photo of my son who is now 31. My goal this month is to complete at least one challenge a day for the rest of this month. That should give me 19 layouts if I can stick to my goal. I found this great sketch at Let's Get Sketchy Team B December Week 2. They create so many cool sketches each month.

Here is what I did. For this layout, I challenged myself to create my titles and embellishments using only the images and words that were part of the paper design. It took a bit of thought but I am pleased with how it all came together and the best part is, I only used 4 different papers to scrap this entire layout with. I am also going to enter this page in the Paper Issues What the #@!$%& Challenge.

12 Days of Christmas Day 7

Here is a super fun and easy gift for the girls. It is such a busy time of year with so many festivities to attend....lots of dressing up and maybe some kissing going on under the mistletoe. Looking over my stash of dies and punches, I decided to create this fun lipstick or lip balm holder box and enter it in the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #21 Celebrate the Season

I used my Stampin' up! die to cut out my party dress. I then punched two Petal Card Doubles which I made into a box. I folded down the top tabs to help support the lipstick case. I then, glued my dress shapes to the front and back of my box.

To add a little more support to the box, I wrapped a ribbon around the dress ending with a bow.

Don't you just love the end result? This box would also be a great party favors for a New Year's Eve party or even for a bride to give as a Thank you gift to her bridesmaids.

12 Days of Christmas Day 6

Let the fun begin again. For day 6, I wanted to create a beautiful Christmas card holder for my friend. When I saw Mary's Christmas tree ornament, I knew right away that that was it. I quickly began to cut and assemble the Christmas tree. I then attached a long ribbon to the top ribbon. This is the area where all the cards will be pinned and displayed.

Here is a closeup of my tree. The branches are decorated with some pearls and beaded trim. I then punch out two bunnies for the bottom of the tree and a snowflake that I placed at the top.

I am going to enter my tree in the Die Cut Challenge over at StuckOnUSketches. There is still two more days to join in the fun, so why not play along.

12 Days of Christmas Day 5

Hi Everyone! For my 5th day of Christmas, it is all about the Christmas gift tags. They are super easy and fun to create especially with all the wonderful cardstock and embellishments that are available around Christmas time.
For my tag that I enter in The Kraft Journal Challenge #200 Christmas Gift Tags, I started off with some craft cardstock, cut my tag, added some embellishments, tied some twine and called it done.

12 Days of Christmas Day4

For the 4th day of Christmas, I decided to make a Christmas ornament for my friend. The svg file is again one of Mary's from SVGCuts. Her file comes with a bird in the cage but to put a fun twist on my ornament, I replaced the bird with a cat.

To be funny, I have a feather hanging out of his mouth.

I embellished the cage with some flowers and leaves from Petaloo and Prima.

I also added in some feathers and dollar store bling to the outside of the cage. The cat is a Stampin' Up! stamp that I chalked. I just smile every time that I look at that Tan Evil Kitty. My yard was from Michaels and my cardstock is AC Cardstock. I am going to enter this in Paper Issues, Bird of a Feather Flock Together Challenge.

12 Days of Christmas Day 3

Who does not love chocolate and snowflakes during Christmas time?
Today, for The Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #21, Celebrate the Season, I wrapped this box of Godiva Chocolates with some pretty paper from MME. Being that the chocolate box is magnetic, I used my Big Shot to cut out some beautiful snowflakes with my Stampin' Up! dies and glued a magnet to the back. I then tied some gorgeous vintage lace around the top of the box that I had in my stash and added a touch bling to the snowflake. This project was so simple to make but yet the end results are stunning.

Here is closeup of my box.

This is what it looks like without the magnet. I just love that paper collection from MME. It's the Signature Christmas collection from 2009.

Here is a shot of the tiny magnet that I used.

and here is the snowflake on my frig.
