What a fun file.

A few months ago, SVG Cutting Files held a Minions blog hop and this is one of the free files that was gifted to all of us hoppers. Isn't this the cutest Dracula file ever! I smile every time that I look at it. The look of the card was created using my DT take on the sketch challenge at Let's Capture Our Memories. You will find the great PageMaps sketch below. I am going to enter this fun card in SVG Cutting Files fall challenge. My papers that I used are from My Minds Eye along with some Stampin' Up! punches to create my banner.

I hope that you will have time this month to join in the fun.

One Crazy Time in Life.

Until now, Aug. and Sept. have personally been pretty challenging. I cannot wait for the calm to present itself before the next series of storms. Each day, I just need to be thankful for being able to handle all of life's curve balls that were thrown my way and to appreciate all the help that I received from my family and friends. Having an amazing support system really helps. With this being said, I am super late at posting the two Let's Capture Our Memories card sketch challenges
from Aug, 29 and Sept. 12.

Here is the Aug, 29 sketch challenge:
I cased the stamped part of this card from my amazing friend Barbra Smith. Check out her
Stampin' Up! blog for so many more ideas, She is the stamping Queen!

LCOM Sketch 123

It's time again, for a Let's Capture Our Memories sketch challenge. I found some old vintage cards that my Mom had saved so many years ago. As a little girl, I remember my Mother and her friend sitting at the table cutting apart cards like these and then paper piecing certain parts back together for a 2D effect. They would then frame the card and hang them on the wall for decoration. I thought that it would be fun to create a Mother's Day card using a few of them. At 92 years young, I wonder if my Mom will remember that this was one of  her cards from her craft stash. It will be interesting to see.

Here is Shirley's fun card sketch 123.
The May's prize is a $10.00 Let's Capture Our Memories store gift certificate.

Here is a side view of my embellishments.

I also embossed some thin steel and then cut it apart and added some of the pieces to my page. I really like the cool effect.

A Let's Get Sketchy Challenge.

It has been a while since I played in a Let's Get Sketchy Challenge. This was a great sketch to play with. I found this sweet Mother's Day card that my son made for me 20 something years ago. I felt that since it was my card, I could not resist but to flower and bling this page out. The Indie Chic paper collection from MME could not have been any more perfect too. I really love the beautiful color combo of this collection. I did a lot of fussy cutting with this page...the flowers, border and even the top and bottom edges.
